90 students from middle and high schools from eight surrounding counties, including Brevard, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia participated March 24 in the exclusive 9th Annual Lockheed Martin Science Challenge.

Lockheed Martin and the corporation’s Retired Employee Association sponsor the event, which serves as an intermediate competition between the county and state science fairs. Only the winners from area county science fairs are invited to participate.

The Science Challenge encourages excellence in science education by providing an opportunity for students to hone their skills and provide the public with the opportunity to view some of the state’s most innovative science projects.
