Stone Students Raise Money for Cancer Research

Stone Middle School students have raised nearly $700 for cancer research in cooperation with Olive Garden's Pasta for Pennies in the last three weeks. We are in our final week right now and an assembly was held honor the class that had raised the most to date - Congratulations to Ms. Rock's Chorus class.

They joined with other students who had paid for the honor of taping Mr. Kaminiski (Stone Middle School's Dean of Students) to the wall. It was a good physics lesson as well, because we all learned that even with this much tape, it was not enough to immobilize our dean!

Please send in any loose change with your son or daughter to contribute to this worthy cause. The more we know about how to stop cancer or at least slow it, the better for everyone!

Some of our students know that's true - they have made the extra ordinary effort to be in class EVERYDAY during the first nine weeks!

LaCrystal Honored by Rotary Club

LaCrystal M. was recognized as an exemplary student at the May 11th Palm Bay Student Award Banquet sponsored by the Rotary Club. LaCrystal is one of only seven 7th graders who has maintained a 4.0 GPA for the entire school year. (seen in picture, left to right: Dr. DiPatri • Brevard Schools Superintendent, LaCrystal, Dr. McIntyre • South Area Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Johnson • Stone MS Principal, Mrs. L. Pappademetriou • Rotary Club, Mrs. Coleman • Stone MS Dolphin Team Lead Teacher)

One of her teachers told the audience that LaCrystal is conscientious, polite, and respectful. She is a hard worker who never complains. She completes her class work with enthusiasm and is diligent to make up any assignments she misses. LaCrystal is a teacher's dream in the classroom. Even when she makes a mistake, she strives to turn it into a lesson learned. She is an excellent role model for all students.

We are so proud to have LaCrystal as our student. She is a student who reminds you about the BEST parts of teaching. LaCrystal is a “Shining Star” for our future!
