Congratulations to Latrail R., 8th grade Panther and Alicia B., 7th grade Explorer who both won awards at the Melbourne Art Festival.
Latrail's Thug Holiday (a mixed media piece inspired by the Trick Daddy song of the same name) took first place in the middle school flatwork category.
Alicia's Intense (a value study in graphite) won second place in the middle school flatwork category.
Both students were awarded prize money and because of their excellent performance in the show, Stone's Art Department also received a check for $50. It's going to be exciting to watch both of these students' art careers develop - their technical ability and their inventive ideas are bound to produce more inspired artwork in the future!
