On Saturday, February 9th, the Stone Royal Gophers competed in the FLL East Coast Regional Championship in Cocoa Beach. They competed against 27 other schools from all over Florida and the Bahamas.

The Stone Royal Gophers did a great job and won second place for the Core Values Award. This award is for Inspiration, Teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism. It celebrates a team that is empowered by their FLL experience and displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit. They are able to accomplish more together than they could as individuals through shared goals, strong communication, effective problem solving and excellent time management. They also, show each other and other teams respect at all times. They recognize that both friendly competition and mutual gain are possible, on and off the playing field.
 
The team bids for going on to the
Florida STATE FIRST LEGO League Championship were also awarded. Stone Royal Gophers were chosen to move on to State because of their excellent performances. This is a great accomplishment! There are over 500 teams in Florida this season.

The Florida State FIRST LEGO League Championship will be on Sunday, March 3rd at the UCF Arena in Orlando. The Royal Gophers will be competing against 46 other teams from all over the state of Florida.

CONGRATULATIONS ROYAL GOPHERS! YOU DID AWESOME! You continue to make Stone Proud!
