They’re on their way to the

This past weekend, on Saturday, February 6th, the Stone Robo Gophers competed in the 2nd FLL East Coast Regional Championship at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School! They competed against 24 other schools from all over Florida.

Stone Robo Gophers won Robot Performance 3rd Place and brought home a trophy! This award goes to the team whose robot is able to score the most points pursuing Challenge missions on the competition field. After each team has had a chance to run their robot for a minimum of three rounds, teams are ranked by their highest score in a single round. We had the third highest score and were only 1 little move off of having the highest score of the day.

The team bids for going on to the Florida STATE FIRST LEGO League Championship were also awarded. To move on to State, teams need to score high enough in all 5 categories of Robot Design, Robot Performance Score, Project/Research Presentation, Teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism, to be one of 12 teams with the highest overall scores.
Stone Robo Gophers were chosen to move on to State because of their excellent performances in all 5 of these categories!!!! We are so excited, this is such an awesome accomplishment!

The Florida State FIRST LEGO League Championship will be on Sunday, February 28th at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech. Both the
Robo Gophers and Princess Gophers will be competing against each other and 46 other teams from all over the state of Florida. Florida Tech is just down the street, so you can come out and cheer us on! We would love to have a large supporting audience all dressed in ORANGE & BLACK! I'll send out more info on times and details as it gets closer.
