Secondary Schools of National Prominence

Brevard Public Schools initiated the Secondary Schools of National Prominence (SSNP) program in order to enhance rigor, relevance, and relationships in the secondary school experience. The goal is to prepare students for their postsecondary endeavors following graduation from high school. For more information on the SSNP initiative please visit the
Brevard Public Schools SSNP informational website.

7th grade
As part of the Secondary Schools of National Prominence, beginning in 7th grade all students and their parents will meet with the school guidance counselor between May 1st and October 15th. The goal of this meeting is to create an Individualized Program of Study (IPS) based on the student's interests. This plan will be reviewed and revised annually throughout the student's secondary education during face-to-face meetings with the counselor.

If you currently have a 7th grade student enrolled at Stone Middle School or have a rising 6th grader planning on attending Stone Middle School in the upcoming school year and have yet to set up/attend an IPS meeting, please contact Ms. Crockett at 723-0741 to set up a meeting with the counselor regarding your student.

8th grade
Also as part of Secondary Schools of National Prominence, all 8th grade students and their parents will meet with the school guidance counselor between November 1st and March 31st. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss high school program options and review the Electronic Personalized Education Plan (ePEP). This is a continuation of the IPS that the student, parents, and counselor developed in the seventh grade.

If you currently have an 8th grade student enrolled at Stone Middle School, please contact Ms. Crockett at 723-0741 to set up a meeting with the counselor.
