The Stone Middle School guidance office focuses on three areas of student development which are outlined in the Brevard County Student Development Plan:

• Academic development- This area includes strategies and activities to support and maximize student learning.

• Career development- This area provides the foundation to assist students in making a successful transition from school to the world of work.

• Personal/social development- Through this area, students will receive information to encourage them to understand and respect themselves and others, acquire effective interpersonal skills, understand basic life skills, and develop into contributing members of society.

Throughout the school year several activities are designed to specifically address each of these areas. The hope is that through these areas of development students will be prepared to become capable, responsible, and contributing citizens.
