Middle School is wrapping up another year of hard work with recognition
ceremonies, performances, and (of course) course exams!
- Celebrate Excellence
with us this evening!
- Many students will be receiving
awards at the Annual Academic Awards Ceremony which is scheduled for
Monday, May 6th at 6:30 PM in the Stone Middle School Media Center.
Parents are encouraged to attend this special student recognition program.
- EARLY DISMISSAL On May
20th, 21st, and 22nd
- A reminder to parents that
students will be dismissed early on May 20th, 21st, and 22nd due to
the exam schedule. Students will depart campus at 2:45. If your student
rides the bus home on any of these dates, you should anticipate their
earlier arrival. Buses will depart campus at 2:45!
- REPORT CARDS
- End of the year Report Cards
will be mailed on June 3rd. Report Cards for those students owing fines
or who failed to turn in their textbooks will NOT be released until
parents have paid the fines. Fines may be resolved with the appropriate
office prior to the end of school or at the front office after May 22nd.
SCHOOL WIDE FIELD TRIP-MAY 18, 2002: The school wide field trip to Wet'n'Wild
will be on Saturday, May 18th. Students should arrive at the school
not later than 7:30 AM. The group will plan to return to the campus
at approximately 7 PM.

& National Junior Honor Society
Parents and family proudly joined
their scholars for a joint induction honors society induction in the Stone
Media Center Wednesday, May 1st. The Stone Middle School Jazz band provided
a nice greeting.
- STONE YEARBOOK
- Yearbook orders are being
taken for the 2002 Petroglyph. Students may bring $26.00 in cash, check,
or money order through Monday, May 6, 2002 to Room 409. CHECKS WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER May 6. Checks must be made payable to Stone Middle
School and must have the student's first and last name printed on front
of the check. There are only about 1/3 of the original quantity still
available for pre orders, so don't miss this extra-special edition!

- Parents, if your child has
any medication stored at the school clinic, it MUST be removed not later
than noon, Wednesday, May 22nd. Parents must personally pick up the

- THE 2002 SUMMER
- Stone Middle School will
host two summer Voyager programs. Both will be offered from May 28th
to June 21st daily from 8 AM to 12 noon. The first program is entitled
Animal Kingdom and will focus primarily on reading skills for current
seventh grade students. It is an exciting and innovative program that
will include field trip experiences. The second is a Math remediation
and enrichment program that is intended for current seventh and eighth
grade students. Registration and detailed information are contained
on the attached flyer. Sign up early to insure your child's spot!!!
- Before School Tutoring
- The last day for Before
School Tutoring/Assistance for the 01/02 School Year is Thursday, May
Phone, Toner and Inkjet Cartridge Recycling
Stone is currently collecting
used cell phones, toner and inkjet cartridges from local business and
homes. Please save any of these and send them in to Mr. Shupe. We have
the opportunity to sell them back to remanufacturing companies for between
.50-$20.00. The money will be used for software purchases at the school.
