Stone is currently collecting used cell phones, toner and inkjet cartridges from local business and homes. Please save any of these and send them in to Mr. Shupe. We have the opportunity to sell them back to remanufacturing companies for between .50-$20.00. The money will be used for software purchases at the school. And it is good for the earth! |

At Stone MS and in Brevard Public Schools in general, we have outstanding reputation throughout Florida for quality science programs. Students at every grade level participate in a strong core science curriculum that emphasizes state and national standards, hands-on experiences, critical thinking, and quality content. Our student scientists consistently win state, national, and international recognition for their work. Brevard Schools Foundation has teamed up with the Brevard School Board to establish BEST: Building Excellence in Science and Technology program. South Brevard's BEST intends to examine what it will take to stay competive in science education for the West Melbourne School/Stone M.S./Palm Bay H.S. Feeder chain. We would very much like parents and community members come join us at 6 PM in the Stone Media Center on March 18th. At this brief meeting, the District Superintendent, Dr. DiPatri will explain the urgent plan to support science education at Stone and in South Brevard. Teachers, select students and alumni will celebrate science and technology education achievements with you- and share a vision of the future for Science and Technology in South Brevard. We hope to inspire you with the potential of young minds and rally community support to provide hands-on learning science grants to cover costs associated with field trips, guest speakers and consumable supplies. This program will help where help is needed most – directly in the classroom. That’s why 100% of the money raised will go to help in the areas listed above. The Brevard Schools Foundation uses none of the money contributed to the BEST program for administrative costs, and ensures that our students and teachers will receive the full benefit of this program. Please help us train our future scientists, health care professionals and astronauts. Attend this meeting and learn more about science and technology education at Stone and in Brevard. With your help, we’re building today for our children’s tomorrow. |
